One Veep Candidate Is Biden His Time; The Other Tries To Not Palin Comparison  9/2/08

After rallying nicely to start off the holiday shortened week, most of the major indices surrendered their gains (and then some) later in the session as investors began to position themselves for what will certainly be one of the most amusing elections to watch in recent memory.

With regards to today's action, on the one hand, you’ve got investors who are worried about how badly the stock market will get hammered when Obama and Biden win the White House and attempt to implement Obama’s tax plan, and on the other hand, you’ve got a group of investors who are worried about just how much further foreign confidence in the dollar will fall if McCain and Palin manage to take command and collectively begin putting their best maverick foot (feet?) forward on the international stage.

Suffice it to say, it is our opinion that no matter who wins, the market will continue to be a great place for growing companies to provide healthy returns for their investors as time goes by, even if there is some market turbulence over the short-term… and thus, despite all the craziness going on in the world of politics (and you know it is only going to get crazier as the election gets closer), investors are encouraged to stick to the game plan that has been outlined in the newsletter for the past several issues.

Now that Labor Day is behind us and volume is picking up again, we ought to get a better sense of where investors actually stand by the end of this week (and will provide an update of our assessment in the Inter-Issue Commentary due to be published next weekend).

As always… stay tuned!
